Our family has been providing hemstitching services in St. George for four generations.  In 1920, Orpha Morris, our great aunt, brought the first hemstitching machine into this area. Orpha Morris and then Lillian McArthur provided this valuable service for the women in town.  Since then, Lillian’s daughters Susan Mower and LoyAnn McLendon, and Lillian’s granddaughter Melissa Despain continue to serve the women with their hemstitching needs. Orpha loved her work, and we are happy to carry on this family tradition of hemstitching.

Baby blankets, burp cloths, and bibs are the items we usually hemstitch.  We also hemstitch pillowcases, handkerchiefs, and other items.

Prices are affordable because we want everyone to be able to have their work hemstitched so it can be easily crocheted.

Blankets                $3.50
Bibs                       $1.00
Bibs that we cut    $1.50
Pillowcases            $1.00
Handkerchiefs       $1.00

If you like to make baby blankets but you don’t crochet, we can hemstitch an additional row, then cut through the outer row of stitching so it looks good and doesn’t fray.

You can take items to be hemstitched to Susan’s home.  Just call or text her at 435-229-8831 or email profmower@gmail.com for directions.
